Meet Kaija Ozola.
Kaija Ozola is an executive English coach based in Riga, Latvia, working one-to-one with senior professionals and business leaders online worldwide. Her coaching covers presentations, interviews, leadership communication, and professional English for every situation where your ability needs to be clearly understood.
You are extremely competent in your work. In your own language, people know it. In English, that is not always the case. That is what I work on with my clients.
About Kaija
Originally from the United States, I have spent the majority of my life in Europe. I am a native speaker of both English and Latvian, and have a basic knowledge of German, Spanish, and Russian. I have lived and worked across Latvia, Spain, Germany, France, and Moldova. My professional experience spans the public, non-profit, and private sectors. The common denominator across all of it has been communication.
Throughout my professional life I have worked with people communicating in languages that were not their own. I have seen capable, experienced professionals appear less able than they are, simply because the language was not reflecting their ability.
For the past three years I worked as Head of Content and Communications for a global industrial technology company operating across 27 countries. I created and hosted an executive interview series that reached 100,000 organic views and listeners across LinkedIn, YouTube, and Spotify. I moderated conferences with 600 or more attendees, developing the full program, preparing and coaching speakers, and managing all communications before, during, and after. I built a thought leadership newsletter from zero to 1,500 organic subscribers. I coached executives on presenting and speaking at international events.
Background
Earlier in my career I worked in international diplomacy and public service. At Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs I served as Head of the Department of International Organizations, managing Latvia's relationships with the Council of Europe, the United Nations, NATO, the OSCE, and the Council of the Baltic Sea States. I negotiated Latvia's accession to the Council of Europe and secured 1.6 million USD in international funding for the establishment of the National Human Rights Office.I was appointed by the Latvian government to establish the first independent National Human Rights Office in Central and Eastern Europe and received two Commendation Awards from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia for that work.
I later consulted for the United Nations in Geneva and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on human rights and institutional development across Central and Eastern Europe.
Why I Do This
One-to-one coaching is where I see the most direct results. When a professional starts communicating in English the way they do in their own language, something changes. Not just in how they communicate, but in how they feel about their work and themselves.Credentials
